At SEMOcon, we are committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all attendees, guests, staff, and volunteers. Harassment or disruptive behavior of any kind will not be tolerated.
Harassment
Harassment includes any unwanted behavior that creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment. This applies to interactions in person, online, or through social media during the event.
Harassment may include, but is not limited to:
Offensive comments about a person’s identity, appearance, gender, orientation, race, religion, or background.
Vulgar jokes or gestures.
Unwanted sexual attention or contact.
Following or cornering someone.
Photographing or recording someone without their permission.
Repeated messages after being told to stop.
Touching or hugging without consent.
Heckling panelists or other attendees.
Impeding someone’s movement or ability to participate.
Bathroom policing (questioning someone’s restroom choice).
Any action that causes someone to feel unsafe or unwelcome.
If someone tells you to stop, you stop—immediately.
Being in cosplay is not consent. Cosplayers are real people and must be treated with respect.
Explicit Content & Dress Code
All costumes must cover areas normally concealed by a swimsuit. Flashing, mooning, or exposure of genitalia, nipples, or buttocks is not allowed. Ahegao apparel is prohibited.
Any merchandise, signs, or artwork with explicit content must be kept discreet and shown only to individuals 18+ with valid ID. Content should never be displayed openly in shared convention spaces.
Disruptive Behavior
Please be respectful of your volume and presence—no screaming, blaring music, or noisemakers unless part of an approved performance. Keep hallways and common areas accessible to everyone.
Photography Policy
By attending SEMOcon, you consent to be photographed or recorded by staff, local media, or approved photographers for promotional purposes. If you do not wish to be photographed, kindly step out of frame or alert a nearby staff member.
Reporting Harassment or Issues
If you experience or witness harassment, please report it as soon as possible. You can speak to any staff member, visit Con Ops (located by the panel room), or report via our official channels.
All reports are taken seriously and handled with discretion. You can report even if you are not directly involved.
Consequences
Violations of these policies, in a case by case basis, may result in::
A formal warning (only one).
Badge revocation and removal from the event (no refunds).
Bans from future SEMOcon events.
In severe cases, local law enforcement may be contacted.
We’re all mad here—but we’re also respectful. Let’s make SEMOcon a safe and magical experience for everyone
